Atari Designates New Product Development And Business Vets

by Tim Turi on Oct 07, 2009 at 10:14 AM

Since the company's inception in 1972, Atari has established itself as a legendary video game icon. It comes as no surprise, then, that when the company is looking for new higher-ups only those with the most extensive industry experience need apply. When it comes to Atari's new business and product development people, they've found just the guys.

The new appointees are Anthony Jacobson as Vice President of Business Development and Pierre Hintze as Vice President of Product Development. Jacobson hales from PlaydayTV where he was  Senior Vice President of Game Studios. PlaydayTV is apparently some sort of interactive casual-gaming channel. Hintze comes from Rainbow Studios with his 13 years of experience. At Rainbow he was senior producer and spearheaded the game series based of the Cars animated film.

“Building the Atari team, and bringing in both Anthony Jacobson and Pierre Hintze, is essential to continuing our growth plan,” said Jim Wilson, CEO and President of Atari.  “They are both extraordinarily talented with strong industry expertise and I look forward to their success.”

Maybe with the extra manpower the folks over at Atari can really buckle down and finally get the PSP version of the Ghostbusters game out there... because that seems to be all they're working on.
