PSPgo Launch Details Announced

If you perused our Weekly Round Up, you’ll know Sony’s latest handheld, PSPgo, is set to hit stores Thursday, Oct. 1. With the PSPgo retailing at $250, only $50 less than the PS3, will Sony aficionados rush out on launch day to get one?

Sony has released North American launch day information that may help you decide on whether or not you want to give the newest PSP a go. IGN reports there will be 16,000 pieces of digital content available, which includes 225 downloadable games (this combines full PSP titles, PSN games, UMD titles and Minis), 2,300 movies and 13,300 TV episodes. Launch titles available for download include Gran Turismo, God of War: Chains of Olympus and Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny. If you do not wish to use a credit card to purchase downloadable content, you can purchase PlayStation Network Game Cards that have voucher codes.

Now we just wonder how 16GB of internal memory will hold up against all of this content before having to purchase a pricey Memory Stick.
