The Exciting Sights Of TGS 2017
Another Tokyo Game Show is in full swing, and every year we try to bring the experience to you. The event may not be the powerhouse it once was for reveals, but there's still plenty of enthusiasm in the air for all things video games. From amazing cosplayers to cool booth setups, we snapped shots of the show floor this year. We'll be updating this gallery through the weekend, so be sure to check back for more photos that capture the show's essence.
Cosplayers are all around to celebrate games. I snapped this by the Final Fantasy XIV booth.
Evil Within 2, called Psycho Break 2 in Japan, received top billing and had a line to play it all day.
Hot off its release date announcement of January 26, Monster Hunter: World was also a popular attraction at the show. I had a lot of fun with the co-op demo I played. Stay tuned for impressions!
Even in Japan, you can't escape the fanfare for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds
You also can't escape all things adorable and pink....
Part of the magic of TGS is you never know who you'll bump into. Suda 51 was excited to discuss that The 25th Ward: Silver Case remake is coming to North America and Europe.
With the recent announcement of the Yakuza team's Fist of the North Star, Sega made sure people took notice.
Here are outfits from Sword Art Online and Kantai Collection.
The Atelier series is celebrating its 20th anniversary. I can't believe it's been that long!
Nintendo doesn't attend TGS, but Koei Tecmo is also developing Fire Emblem Warriors. Seeing Fire Emblem at the show just made me smile. You have to admit that retro banner is a nice touch.
So let's talk about these weird Final Fantasy XV promotions for mobile...
Because I just can't wrap my head around them ...
A chance to pose with a rabite and the mana sword? Like I'd pass that up. Dork card earned.
Dating sims are popular for both genders. Not pictured: This booth let you get your makeup done and also held pretend wedding ceremonies to handsome boys.
In case you need a new phone case...
A look at some of the chaos as everyone rushes to Yakuza.
I always enjoy seeing limited edition consoles on display, such as this Grand Turismo one.
I'm not doing a good job if I'm not posting at least one Love Live! photo.
The game may be out, but that doesn't mean we can't marvel (no pun intended) at that sweet setup.
In case you get the sudden urge to cosplay while at the show. Believe me, I've seen it happen.

David Cage's Detroit: Become Human drew big crowds.
Here's Sonic giving me attitude.
The Sega/Atlus booth had some cool titles on display
I'm especially excited for the new Vanillaware game, 13: Sentinels: Aegis.
The latest new monster revealed for Monster Hunter: World. His name is Nergigante, and he definitely makes his presence known.
Fun story ahead. This is the producer (Takuma Shiraishi) of the new Fortune Street game called Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy 30th anniversary.
He actually sat down and played a match with me alongside Tomomi Ichikawa, who does marketing and PR for the Dragon Quest series. Here I am smiling with glee in my domination.
Still smiling as I defeat my fiancé sitting next to me. I played as Yuna from FFX and he played Kefka from VI. The booth setup was really elaborate and fun!
HI FRANK!
Phantasy Star 2 Online never released in North America, but what I would give for a traditional Phantasy Star game...
The show has a variety of different games you don't see every day...
Hi Bayek! Assassin's Creed Origins also had a presence.
I was bummed these weren't for sale, especially the Ace Attorney plushies.
If you wanted to, you could marry this guy in an elaborate ceremony.
He'd walk you down this aisle and put a veil on you. No, I didn't partake in this.
A cool timeline of the Atelier series.
Pretty cool Dynasty Warriors PS4.
Dynasty Warriors 9 was popular at the show, with cosplayers to help promote it.
Kojima Productions also had a line of products out you could buy like these phone cases.
Let it Die had muscle men standing for photo ops.
Click to page three for even more pics from the show floor!
More Phantasy Star Online 2 cosplay, because why not?
EDF! EDF! EDF! The man in the bike was pedaling for dear life for this photo op.
More Yakuza is always a good thing. I love how the series has finally picked up in North America.
Some Code Vein cosplay. She looks as tough as the game.
A look at the Fire Emblem Warriors limited edition.
I found my friend! Chocobo!
I cannot wait for the Secret of Mana remake. Check out those figures!
Nintendo love is always on display, even if the company never attends the show.
Obligatory World of Tanks picture because every year there's a tank on the show floor.
You really never know what kind of game you'll find when roaming TGS...
It's also not a TGS without a slew of slimes.
Takumi, FTW!
Lots of Atelier on display for the 20th anniversary, including this cool poster gallery.
Dynasty Warriors 9 plays better than ever.
Sony's booth always had a steady stream of traffic.
Many lined up for the upcoming Final Fantasy XV multiplayer expansion.
Atelier, Yakuza, and Hatsune Miku phone cases.
Still contend the Fortune Street booth had the most adorable setup.
