Square-Enix's upcoming game Project Octopath Traveler is a striking blend of old-school RPG with updated visuals. Sort of. The game was featured at Nintendo's recent Direct stream, where viewers got to see how the game's developers are creating a world where 16-bit-era sprites interact with 3D environments. The reveal was accompanied with the surprise that Switch owners could download a demo of the game and explore a bit of Octopath Traveler's world with two of the game's eight characters. Today, Andrew Reiner and I checked out Primrose's path. Don't let the game's innocent-looking presentation fool you – it gets really gross.

As you can see in our video, Primrose's tale is one of revenge. The character witnesses the murder of her father, and she devotes her life to tracking down the three men she holds responsible. When we meet up with her in the game's beginning, she is working as a dancer in a tavern, hoping to get leads on one of the murderers. Unfortunately, as you'll see, these aren't the only bad guys in her life. In short, her boss is an A1 supercreep.
