Blog Herding – The Best Blogs Of The Community (August 31, 2017)

by Game Informer Editorial on Aug 31, 2017 at 11:00 AM

It's time for Blog Herding! We had a smaller collection of blogs, but some great ones, as usual. Enjoy!

Community Blogs For August 24 – August 30:

Top Ten Masks In Video Games
I just could not resist featuring McNutty891's list of top gaming masks. I've never really thought about masks in games too much, but there are actually some really cool ones. It seems like, according to the blog, most video game masks are just downright unsettling.

31/31 Day 23: Lazy Day Gaming
Lazy days are nice, as are lazy days filled with games. Haley Shipley writes that playing old classics or a casual game are perfect for relaxed gaming, instead of, say, online versus matches of FIFA. Breath of the Wild is her lazy day game. What is yours?

The Essentials Challenge: Nightcrawler Ash – Mass Effect Trilogy
Father Titan returns to talk to Nightcrawler Ash about the Mass Effect series. This is actually Ash's first time playing the series, so it is kind of cool to see some thoughts from someone totally new to the trilogy. It's a good read. But Thane? Really?

Reliving My Nostalgia
McNutty891 is featured once again, this time sifting through a childhood spent gaming by playing classics of yesteryear. I try to play old games when I can, just to try and transport myself to another time and place in my life. Plus, it is always good to replay games like Jak and Daxter. It's just too bad how they can remind you how old you've gotten.

Community Reviews:

Uncharted: Lost Legacy – The Nitpicking
This game gets a nine, but Lost Legacy still trips over similar issues the series has always had, according to Psykologic. The first couple hours are also a bit rough, which never helps, but overall, our blogger clearly loved the game – and the epic villain who "wouldn't feel out of place as a Bond villain."

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
Zack Burrows claims that this game is one of the best in the Uncharted series. It's funny because this review says that the villain is a bit weak, but is otherwise a near flawless game. But really, what this review gets me excited for is  learning more about Chloe and Nadine.

Writing Challenge:

Nothing this time.
