Replay – Crackdown

by Andrew Reiner on Apr 07, 2017 at 08:00 PM

Project Scorpio's impressive specs were just revealed, and Crackdown 3 is one of the first games that should be playable on it later this year. We're hoping this new entry can rekindle the fun of the original Crackdown. That fun melded bounding superhero-like movement with the typical run-and-gun combat found in most open-world games. It was a simple, yet satisfying mix that was sadly lost in the sequel.

Game Informer's Kyle Hilliard walks us through Crackdown's opening moments, going well out of his way to show us just how cool it is to drive cars like a madman. He also enjoys throwing grenades, people, and tries his hardest to toss dumpsters as well. Just when it seems Kyle is entering his typical "how can I play this game totally wrong" phase, we turn off Crackdown to play a game that has fast become a Replay favorite for the staff and viewers alike. You know what it is, and yes, this new look at it is glorious.

Enjoy the episode, people, and come back in seven days to see another game of yesteryear.
