Blog Herding – The Best Blogs Of The Community (January 12, 2017)

by Game Informer Editorial on Jan 12, 2017 at 05:02 AM

This week's Blog Herding is a little small (everyone wrote Game of The Year blogs – which is totally cool), but what we have is a lot of fun to read. So, get those reading glasses on, soak up the words, and enjoy yourselves, bloggers!

Community Blogs For January 5 – January 11:

Faith in the Cosmos: The Strange Optimism of No Man's Sky Fandom
Daniel Jones put in some extra work to interview YouTube personality and hardcore No Man's Sky player Ron Carpenter. It's a long read, but interesting if you want to know more about the life of a YouTuber.

My Dream Batman Game
When it comes to Batman, Haley Shipley has an idea on what the next Dark Knight game needs to be like. If it were up to me, we'd get a Batman game that focused less on fighting and more on strategy, detective work, and psychological thrills.

My 2016 In Gaming
While there were plenty of GOTY blogs this past week, The Platinum Man is unique. Not only did he finish every game, but he collected each and every achievement and trophy.

Community Reviews:

Retro Review: Klonoa Door to Phantomile
Instead of playing Overwatch over the holiday, Brendon Curzio decided to get some old-school gaming on. And even though the game isn't perfect, according to our blogger, he still has a lot of fun with the classic.

Writing Challenge Responses:

CWC – My Gaming Skills
Cru Hunter gets creative and writes a resume of game skills gathered from his playing time. I could totally use a Masters degree in pwnage. Currently I have a certificate in keeping my kill/death ratio even.

Community Writing Challenge: Learning Through Video Games
I need to play dancing games if GerardoExber could learn how to dance from one. On a more serious note, Gerardo learned how to be more spatially aware thanks to the Castlevania series.

Writing Challenge:

What is the worst thing you have done in a video game? Something that made you feel icky, or has always stuck with you.

I hope you enjoy the blogs! Please contact me via my Game Informer page or on Twitter at @LouisGarcia12 with any blog news or playdate suggestions.
