The Amazing Sights Of TGS 2016

by Kimberley Wallace on Sep 17, 2016 at 04:27 PM

Every year we try to bring the Tokyo Game Show experience to you. The event may not be the powerhouse it once was for reveals, but there's still plenty of enthusiasm in the air for all things video games. From amazing cosplayers to cool booth setups, we snapped shots of the show floor this year. We'll be updating this gallery through the weekend, so be sure to check back to get more perspective and fun photos from the show.

Like the North Star, this slime and moogle will always guide you back to the Square Enix booth.

Which, of course, has plenty of Final Fantasy XV on display. Noctis looks pretty determined to get our approval...

At least Kingdom Hearts is represented in some way, but I can't shake the sad feeling from Kingdom Hearts III being absent.

I spot a creepy Resident Evil 7 house. I'm not scared at all.

But turning around the corner and running into this guy isn't exactly pleasant.

He's a little less scary...I think.

AHHH PERSONA 5!!!

I ran into some Syujin high school students. Persona 5 is cool, but Persona 5 cosplay is even better!

With a release date finally unveiled, the Nioh excitement continues to build.

Koei Tecmo also put its upcoming Gust titles on display. YAY Atelier!

Sometimes you just need to take pictures like this to show that anything is possible on the TGS show floor.

Speaking of which...do we start with the name of the game, or the fact that you have to look like a creeper looking up skirts to demo it?

I really hope Valkyria: Azure Revolution gets brought to North America.

The Sony booth has a wide variety of games on display, such as Days Gone, Gravity Rush 2, and The Last Guardian.

Monster hunter love!

I have no idea who that nerd is...(I stopped taking myself seriously years ago. That's my tough face).

In the romance game section, I found booth men!

Let's close this page out with some Yakuza.

Click to page two for more crazy and amazing sights!

The Final Fantasy XIV love is still going strong. Moogle fans are also a brilliant idea.

The Civ VI booth was complete with Cleopatra....

She spotted me taking her photo, shooting this fierce look my way

EDF EDF EDF!

Every year I spot Hatsune Miku somewhere. Japan's love affair with the vocaloid is never going away. I love it.

Can I just say that Japan has the best credit cards? I would love that Ace Attorney one.

Samurai Warriors: Sanda Maru showed off some of its detailed and authentic threads.

While Mafia III exuded its own style with bright lights and foxy ladies.

The Perfect World booth featured some amazing cosplay.

Here's a shot of the show floor to give you an idea of the intensity.

And one more just to sell how much love their is for Persona 5.

Check out the Persona 5 school uniforms.

Every year it is some girl's brave duty to sit on a tank at the Wargaming booth.

My favorite part of the show is just seeing unique booth setups.

You might  be a little distracted, but she's showing that the phone is waterproof...

Gust titles represent! Atelier Firis is on the left and the main character from a name game called Blue Reflection is on the right. Blue Reflection actually looks really cool!

And we'll end today by asking, who was the best protagonist of these four? I really grew to love Luke...

Click to the next page to see some of the merchandise and more cosplay!

Yes, plenty of Danganronpa love was in the air.

And Hatsune Miku! I'll leave it up to your imagination about what those t-shirts with the legs above look like...

With launch a few months away, Final Fantasy XV dominated the show.

Here's a picture of the soundtrack. You can see me looking really cool in the reflection.

Here are some cool cosplayers I ran into. Not sure what game it's for, but they played their parts well.

Here's another shot for good measure.

I love the studly wall scrolls outside the Capcom shop.

Can I interest you in some curry? Dhalsim on the spicy curry is a nice touch.

I have no idea what Happy Manager is, but I have a feeling it's strange...

I totally bought that Jack Frost...

And I just had to get Vivi, but all these Square plushies are pretty rad!

Romance VR is taking off in Japan. I'll leave it at that.

The Love Live Girls were everywhere as they should be. So adorable!

A lot of times I walk around the show floor and don't even know what I'm looking at...

Oh hey! I know that game.

NBA 2K17 was also on display. The show does have some Western presence here and there.

How cute are these figures?!

Walking into the show is a huge build up to all the cool games.

I didn't forget you DQ fans! Here is some of the merchandise that was on display.

The Civ VI booth was all kinds of amazing.

And a good chunk of games are just about interacting with good looking boys, haha

The Game School Asia booth is always a sight to behold.

That's our final update on pictures. I hope you enjoyed seeing the sights of the show with me!
