Test Chamber – Playing In Yooka-Laylee's Toybox And Banjo-Kazooie Comparisons
This week, developer Playtonic Games released a sampling of its Banjo-Kazooie successor, Yooka-Laylee, so we decided to play the game, and see how far the apple falls from the tree.
Ben Reeves and myself are fans of the colorful mascot platformer, a genre that has nearly disappeared over the course of the last few years. This demo, titled Toybox, is not a level from the game, and instead serves as a proof of concept, letting you control and try out Yooka-Laylee's moveset. After playing a large portion of the level, we take a look at how closely Yooka-Laylee compares to Banjo-Kazooie, by putting the two games side by side.
Yooka-Laylee is planned for release in the beginning of 2017.
