Nintendo and Rare never delivered the GoldenEye sequel we wanted, but Perfect Dark is a fair substitute – a spiritual successor of sorts that brings back the beloved "Golden" gameplay in a new science-fiction universe. Protagonist Joanna Dark is equipped with a powerful arsenal of weapons (which still ranks high among gaming's greatest), and is tasked to unfurl a mystery of intergalactic proportions.

Unlike most Replay episodes, we're not starting with the beginning of the game. Ben Hanson was nice enough to bring in his copy of the game, with most of the levels and secrets unlocked. We bounce around levels within the campaign to show off some of its crazier developments, and then sink a considerable amount of time into the multiplayer, which most Game Informer staffers agree is better than GoldenEye's.

And after Perfect Dark we take a look at not one, but two additional games, both bringing a level of sucktitude we didn't expect. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the episode, folks. We'll see you again shortly in Replay and the next Super Replay.
