Test Chamber – An Early Look At Supergiant’s Pyre
We’re big fans of the highly original games that have been produced by Supergiant Games, the studio responsible for Bastion and Transistor. Each of those games shared a visual and audio aesthetic, but were set in vastly different settings and game genres. The team’s new game, Pyre, looks to continue that trend. The developer’s unmistakable style is on display, but this time in a game that mixes fantasy RPG storytelling with a conflict system inspired by old school arcade sports games.
Ben Hanson, Brian Shea, and I sat down to play a recent demo, which does an admirable job of showing off the game’s potential.
Editor's Note: The pre-release demo we played in this video runs at an accelerated speed in certain sections on our PC. Supergiant Games has noted the speed issue, and contacted us to let us know the “fast-forward” effect will not be reflected in the final game.
