by Game Informer Editorial on May 05, 2016 at 06:01 AM

It's a great week for Blog Herding. We have posts that touch on strategy guides, Smash Bros., and much, much more. Sit back, relax, and enjoy.

Community Blogs For April 28 – May 5:

What I Wish Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem Had Actually Been
Will Watson makes some good points about both series, to be honest. This is a very good look at both series, which is something we really haven't seen in the mainstream video game media.

Xenoblade Chronicles Vs. Xenoblade Chronicles X
TheDarkestLink has been writing about X for a very long time now. He has touched on everything from music to the game's setting. If you're a fan of Xenoblade, give this blog a read; there isn't this much analysis on the series thanks to most critics thinking X failed the series.

GIO Super Smash Bros Wii U/3DS Tournament Invitational: TEAM TOURNAMENT
Do you feel what the tstitan, GIO King of Smash is cookin'? Do ya??? Well, if you do, please don't hesitate to grab me as your partner. I am slightly above average, but will train for you, sweat for you – bleed for you. Hey, dudes and dudettes: These Smash tourneys are intense.

Game Guides: My Preferred Gaming Peripheral
Rebekah Lang had me baffled when she wrote about strategy guides. I used to use them as a young boy, but now? No. But you know what? She makes some darn good points. Lore – and nice-smelling books – are certainly interesting. And according to her, I really should get the Destiny guide. I've been trying to level so I can battle with Lang, but I am still a noob.

If I Ever Was A Hardcore Gamer, I Don't Want To Be Anymore
Marco Polo talks about something I can totally relate to: not being a hardcore gamer anymore. Whether it be time, dedication, maturation, or even consequence, being a hardcore gamer means too many different things, and not what Marco wants to be. What's the right answer? You and I are more than video games. Do we let them define our lives, or do we allow them to be but a part of it?

Top 10 Greatest Heroes in Gaming!
StarterPack strikes again, this time writing about heroes. It's...a surprising list, but a fine one nonetheless. While I love the heroes we have in gaming, I am still waiting for a Native American/ Mexican American to take center stage, but not in a stereotypical way. Fingers crossed.

Ace Attorney Anime Episodes 1-4 Review
So, Justin Mikos really likes this video game series. The anime also seems okay, but I advise giving this blog a read to see if you will enjoy it. To be honest, I've only completed one of the Ace games, so I can't recommend the anime or not.

Greatest Gaming Foods I Wish I Could Have...
StarterPack is not afraid to talk about gaming food that sounds yummy. And to be honest, I would totally buy a Jill Sandwich. I feel like Jill would put some great toppings on that. But for real: I want to eat more power-ups and video game foods. I mean, a club in Las Vegas makes video game-themed cocktails, so...

Community Writing Challenge: Video Game Food I Would Like To Try
Darn it, GerardoExber. You had me at wall chickens. What? Wall chickens sound odd? Have you seen those glorious pixels? Don't show that chicken to Kirby; he'll never stop sucking up the world. Wall chicken is the best.

Community Writing Challenge:

Should video games tackle social issues? Do any games do a good job of treading that ground? Let us know what you think via the almighty blog.
