Blog Herding – The Best Blogs Of The Community (March 31, 2016)

by Game Informer Editorial on Mar 31, 2016 at 06:41 AM

My cat enjoyed this week's blogs. I swear. He sat on my lap and stared at the monitor the entire time I read each one. Kudos to everyone, and thanks for writing!

Community Blogs For March 24 – March 30:

HowLongToBeat & Co-Optimus: Two Great Gaming Resources
Rebekah Lang gives us a look at two very helpful websites. I'm a huge fan of HowLongToBeat, mostly because I have very little time during the week to play a game, and want to see if I can actually beat one or two a month. Co-Optimus is super valuable when it comes to finding a game you can play alongside a buddy on a couch.

Jumping In On Day One
LetMeGetToACheckpoint writes a bit about Halo 5 REQ packs and how they've kept our blogger playing the game's online multiplayer. It's an interesting take on a way to keep people playing games longer.

Community Reviews:

Hitman: Episode One Review
John Wrek has the same opinion of the latest game in the assassin series as many others do: It's okay. Unless we're talking voice acting, which John says is, "often so terrible as to not even be laughably bad." I'll just replay some of the older games on Steam.

Fallout 4: Automatron DLC Review
StarterPack likes building robots. Luckily, that's just what this DLC offers. It isn't perfect, and many Fallout fans have said so, but it seems that building your very own battle bot is worth the price of admission. After reading this I really want to dive back into the world. I'm only about four hours into the new adventure.

Writing Challenge Responses:

Community Writing Challenge: VR as the Future of Education
Blogger Haley Shipley opines about how VR can help educate people. Can you imagine a better way to learn history than actually standing in front of Martin Luther King Jr. as he gives a famous speech? Or how about learning how to repair a car by grabbing onto tools and getting to work? VR really opens up an entire new world.

Community Writing Challenge: Virtual or Not, We Need it!
StarterPack goes beyond VR for video game enjoyment, writing about the many other ways the platform can enrich people's lives or entertainment. It may not be the most perfect delivery for entertainment or job training, but it can be a lot of things.

Community Writing Challenge:

What are some of the craziest things you've built in a video game? Write words, take pictures, or even videos – I want to see what you've built!

Community Playdate:

Expect more chances to play once Rocket League receives its basketball update, but please send me comments on what else you're all playing. Thanks!

I hope you enjoy the blogs! Please contact me via my Game Informer page or on Twitter at @LouisGarcia12 with any blog news or playdate suggestions.
