Test Chamber – Harmonix's Amplitude Revival
It's the start of a whole new year of Test Chambers here at Game Informer, and to kick things off we're looking at one of the year's first releases: Amplitude. Harmonix has revived the music-rhythm formula that they invented with the games Frequency and Amplitude on the PlayStation 2 for a new generation. Game Informer's Matt Miller reviewed the game, Ben Hanson has played a lot of it, and Joe Juba is a curious fan of the classic games, so we were all eager to jump into the studio and show off the game. To learn more about Amplitude, you can watch our video interview with Harmonix's founder on the history of the project, check out some footage of the original PS2 game, or read Matt Miller's full review.
Watch the video below to see the new PlayStation 4 (and soon to be PlayStation 3)game in action and to learn the pros and cons of the game's resurrection.
