This week was a light one – but I can't blame you, bloggers. Two heavy-hitters in the gaming world came out this week, and you totally should be spending your limited free time digging into the worlds of Tomb Raider and Fallout. Just feel free to blog about them as well.

You've Never Played a Real Game
Ralphy Ears has a strong opinion on games, or the "fact" that none of the video
games out are real games. It's a lengthy read, but my two cents is that stating
an opinion as fact on a topic like this seems like folly. Perhaps you'd like to
get the discussion going? Maybe this is all a game, man.
Early Impressions: Rise Of The Tomb Raider
Rebekah Lang has been more excited for the new Tomb Raider game than anyone.
I'm pretty sure someone should have paid her a freelancer fee to review it,
because she breaks down the game perfectly in this blog. To be honest, I really wish I could jump into the game. Fingers crossed we get
another blog when Lang finishes it!
All My Thoughts On The Vita
Enuo believes the Vita isn't a complete waste, but that it also didn't live up
to its potential. I'd have to agree. I played the console at CES back when it
was a wonderful concept, and I found the games to be great – and even enjoyed
using the rear touchpad to place shots in FIFA. But alas, the handheld just
never reached the heights Enuo expected.
Is It Wrong To Download Copyrighted
Software?
Ralphy Ears is back with another blog to make you think. I personally have
never downloaded a game that I didn't pay for. I can understand why some people
download a game with a fan-made translation that isn't on our shores "legally,"
but I just don't see the need to download anything.
Cat vs PS4: A Battle Lost From The Beginning
Revision_Radical presents us with the ultimate battle: feline versus machine. A
powerful bite against nuts and bolts – cuddles against the cold.
Revision_Radical takes on the job of war photographer to show us this ultimate
battle of beast and machine. Side note: My cat loves laying all 18 pounds of his butt on my PS4, so
there's something odd with cats and consoles going on.

StarterPack gives us a list that never gets old: video game Easter eggs.
There's just something about the developer sneaking in a secret or
fourth-wall-breaking item that is loads of fun to find or experience.
Backward Compatibility. Why It Matters And
How It Can Be Improved.
Backwards compatibility is important to GerardoExber. It's important to me too.
I don't like having tons of consoles hooked up to my TV, and I have a lot of
old games I need to finish or would like to replay. Being able to play older games on
new consoles is just...nice.

Community Writing Challenge: The
Antagonist Point Of View I Agree With
GerardoExber tackles the writing challenge by discussing Persona 4's
antagonist. It's a great choice considering the series' many layers and
commentary on society. Sure, it's heavily based on Japanese society, but the
parallels have a lot to teach both western and eastern cultures.
Community Writing Challenge:
Crossover mayhem. Write about what kind of game you'd like to see if any and all developers could create a crossover game. It seems a little easy, but I want to see all sorts of JRPG, Sony, and Microsoft characters in Super Smash Bros. Now tell me what you'd like to play.
Community Playdate:
This week's playdate game will be The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes on the Nintendo 3DS. We'll be playing on Sunday at 12 p.m. CST. Newcomers and veterans are welcome.
