The audio team at 343 Industries is putting an enormous amount of effort into the sound track of Halo 5: Guardians. They spent time recording the series' iconic Gregorian monk chants in one of the best-known acoustic churches in Europe, and got shot at with real guns just to capture intense battle audio.
Audio director Sotaro Tojima and composer Kazuma Jinnouchi delve into the challenges of balancing the classic Bungie music with new material, and the many techniques that go into making the combat audio more immersive.
