Test Chamber – Portal Meets Pinball, Let The Testing Begin
Today Valve and Zen Studios revealed their new, surprise collaboration: A pinball table devoted to the dimension-hopping antics of Portal. Join us as we take the table for a spin and discuss what the table offers longtime Portal fans.
Join us as Ben Reeves, Jeff Cork, and I try out the new table, which is coming to Pinball FX 2 and Zen Pinball 2 later this month. Like all of Zen's licensed tables, Portal Pinball is packed with callbacks to the series. Skilled players will run into Atlas and P-Body in the Cooperative Testing multiball mode, knock around Wheatley and his fellow A.I. spheres in the Personality Core multiball, and take on GLaDOS in the table's multistage wizard mode. Unfortunately, we're not skilled players, so you won't see any of that – but you will get a good sense of the flow of the table and hear our overall impressions of whether it's worth adding to your virtual pinball collection.
