Five Mortal Kombat X Dream Guest Characters Our Readers Forgot To Suggest

by Kyle Hilliard on Feb 08, 2015 at 01:00 PM

Yesterday, I posted a feature detailing more than 40 fictional and non-fictional guest characters that could appear in Mortal Kombat X as suggested by our readers. It was a big expansive list, but there were a few obvious ones I felt our readers neglected to mention.

All of these fighter suggestions are pretty obvious, so I can only assume I overlooked their inclusion in the comments, or readers decided not to comment assuming somebody else must have already pointed them out.

Rupert Grint
Grint is best known for playing Ronald Weasley in the Harry Potter movies, but he has probably been in other movies as well. When you think of the over-the-top fighting game violence, you can't help but think of this actor who portrayed Harry's loveable and devoted best friend. He might look a little out of place in his civilian clothes, and no wand in his hand, but he really should be part of the Mortal Kombat X crew.

Daytona USA's Hornet from Fighters Megamix
Many readers suggested lots of guest characters from other fighting games like Soulcalibur and Killer Instict, but everyone ignored what may be one of the best fighting game characters ever created – Hornet the NASCAR car from Daytona USA. If he is to appear, I hope he functions identically to way he did in Fighters Megamix: upright on its back tires firing off punches with its front tires.

Ico
The titular horned boy from Ico doesn't appear to be a particularly violent person, but he does wield a large stick for most of his game. The tone of Ico may clash with Mortal Kombat and his appearance as a guest character in a fighting game would likely diminish the work put into expertly developing his character, but... wouldn't it be neat?

Raz Karcy
To be totally honest, most of these suggestions are jokes. I won't tell you which ones, but for some of these, I am not presenting them as serious suggestions. With all that being said, I am a little surprised nobody brought up Raz Karcy from Overblood as a possible Mortal Kombat X character. Sure, he's a long shot, but we here at Game Informer hold him in high regard.

Mickey Mouse
Disney is known for being pretty relaxed about the use of its characters with and without its permission. I'm sure NetherRealm could sneak him into Mortal Kombat X without much retaliation from Disney. They should just make him a secret character. Video games rarely see any kind of legal repercussions for including difficult to access content.
