Readers Tell Us Their Top 25 Dream Mortal Kombat X Guest Characters

Though it didn't make any promises about who would be appearing, NetherRealm did recently confirm that guest characters will be appearing in Mortal Kombat X. We asked our readers who they would like to see appear in Mortal Kombat X, and though the responses were incredibly varied, there were quite a few consistent answers. There are the characters that appeared in responses on more than one occasion.

The following 10 characters all showed up at least twice in the comments – which is impressive considering readers could respond with quite literally any character from fiction or real life. Most might not fall in line with Mortal Kombat's extreme violence, but the possible guest from films would all make good inclusions, and I also think Isaac Clarke from Dead Space would be particularly good. People often forget that a Spartan did show up as a combatant in a fighting game before in Dead or Alive 4, which is what you see above.

  • Ash from The Evil Dead
  • Cole McGrath or Delsin Rowe from Infamous
  • Ezio Auditore da Firenze from Assassin's Creed II
  • Isaac Clarke from Dead Space
  • Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw Massacre
  • Master Chief from Halo
  • Mummy from The Mummy
  • Neo from The Matrix
  • Pennywise from Stephen King's It

The next eight characters appeared in the comments three or four times each. It might seems odd to group Lara Croft and Nathan Drake together, but every time the two were brought up, they were brought up together. People really want to see those two fight. Alex Mercer and James Heller from Prototype would both be good entries for Mortal Kombat, but the series has fallen off the map a bit.

  • Alex Mercer or James Heller from Prototype
  • Deadpool
  • Fulgore from Killer Instinct
  • Lara Croft and Nathan Drake from Tomb Raider and Uncharted
  • Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden
  • The Terminator
  • Xenomorph from Alien

The next four all appeared in comments five or six times. Spawn appeared in Soul Calibur II on Xbox, and I was surprised to see so many readers making a call for the character to return. Creator Todd McFarlane is still hard at work with McFarlane toys, but we haven't heard much from Spwan in some time.

  • Dante from Devil May Cry
  • Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th
  • Pinhead form Hellraiser
  • Spawn

For the top two most requested characters for Mortal Kombat X from readers, head to page two.

Michael Myers from Halloween showed up often in the comments making him the second most-requested guest character from readers.

The Predator, however, easily showed up the most. It seemed like nearly every other comment referenced the heat-seeking, dreadlock-wearing super alien soldiers.

There were many others that only showed up once in the comments, and I have them all listed here:

Adam Jensen from Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Alucard from Castlevania, Big Boss from Metal Gear Solid, Blade, Blank Man, Capra Demon from Dark Souls, Chris Redfield from Resident Evil, Chucky, Creeper from Jeepers Creepers, Django from Django Unchained, Dr. Manhattan from Watchmen, Eddie the Iron Maiden mascot, Emperor Palpatine from Star Wars, Geralt of Rivia from The Witcher, Jack Sparrow from Pirate’s of the Caribbean, Jackie Estacado from The Darkness, Judge Dredd, Juliet from Lollipop Chainsaw, Lobo, Mega Man, Nariko from Heavenly Sword, Nemesis from Resident Evil, Pyramid Head from Silent Hill, Raiden or Grey Fox from Metal Gear Solid, Raziel or Kain from Soul Reaver, Rorschach from Watchmen, Shinobi, Snake Pliskin from Escape from New York, Swamp Thing, Sweet Tooth from Twisted Metal, T-Virus tyrant from Resident Evil, The Mask (specifically Jim Carrey’s take), The Thing, Tim Allen's Santa Claus, Trevor from Grand Theft Auto V, and finally Vamp from Metal Gear Solid.

Finally, there were a couple real, non-fictional people readers said they want to see in Mortal Kombat X. Here's the list:

Chuck Norris, Conan (not sure if they meant the comedian or the barbarian, but my vote is for the former), Ed Boon, Jack Gleeson, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Tony Jaa, and Wayne Gretsky, which was easily the most random suggestion from our readers.
