Test Chamber – Riptide GP2

Riptide GP2 is a sequel to a popular mobile game that has graduated to Xbox One, and we decided to see how it fares on its new platform.

Join me, Andrew Reiner, Jeff Cork, and renowned water-physics expert Ben Reeves as we jump on our wave runners and ride. First impressions recall the Nintendo 64 launch title Wave Race 64 mostly because the two are both wave-runner racing games, but the futuristic tracks also recall games like Wipeout or F-Zero. In the video below you will see a full-screen race, and a few four-player split-screen races – a rare occurrence these days. The game actually support up to six, which is even rarer.
