The Surprising Evolution Of Destiny's Art
Throughout the next month, we're going to be rolling out exclusive videos and articles to coincide with our January cover reveal of Bungie's Destiny. We're starting with the beginning, back when art director Christopher Barrett and his team of talented artists were sketching rough ideas for the studio's ambitious new world. The team's primary motivation was to build a world that was inviting for players to live in and explore, but the path to the final look of the game was not what you'd expect. You can learn much more about the gameplay of Destiny by reading the latest issue of Game Informer, which you can read right now through your subscription to digital.
Watch the video below to see how Destiny began as a fantasy world and how it pulled inspiration from Star Wars and an unexpected cartoon from the 1980s.
