Replay – Strider
Fighting-game fans probably recognize Strider Hiryu from the Marvel vs. Capcom games, but they might not be as familiar with his origins. The sword-slashing hero debuted in the 1989 arcade game Strider, which was later ported to the Genesis. Join Dan, Tim, Reiner, and me as we wage a one-man war against a red army of robotic enemies.
We played the arcade version for this Replay, which was part of a PSOne Strider collection. It's clear that the game was designed to take your money, and it did its job nicely. Let's just say that we would have left the arcade several dollars' poorer if we'd been paying to play. Be sure to stick around for the Roulette for a look at a not-quite classic.
