Moments: The Marble Prank In Bully
Despite what self-righteous crusaders said prior to its release, Bully is not actually a game about bullying. However, it does allow players to pull pranks and make mischief, and one of the game's most memorable moments involves hilarious hijinks with marbles.
Even though young Jimmy Hopkins has an arsenal including stink bombs, firecrackers, and a potato gun, Bully does its best to discourage players from misbehaving. In most places, prefects and police officers are standing by to hassle you when you raise hell. Thankfully, one lawless frontier is beyond their reach: the boys' dormitory. That's where the real fun happens.
Beating up nerds and stuffing them into trashcans is entertaining, but the true moment of glory comes when players put two troublemaking devices together. On one hand, you have the fire alarm. It's just sitting there on the wall of the dorm, and when Jimmy pulls it, everybody makes a break for the doors to get outside. On the other hand, you have bags of marbles, useful primarily for tripping up prefects who are hot on your tail. But what if you put marbles by the doors, and then pull the fire alarm?
This happens:
Bully has lots of great missions and moments, but none compare to the first time you decide try out this combo, and are rewarded with exactly the scene you hope to see. Not only are the repeated spills hilarious, but the all-out bedlam that ensues as everyone tries to beat up Jimmy is also a riot. The whole scenario is a fantastic example of the freedom and humor at the core of Bully.
