The Authoritative Assassin's Creed Timeline
We went directly to the writers of the franchise to get the definitive history, including never-before-seen elements of the conspiracy.
There's certainly a lot to keep track of in the universe of Assassin's Creed. Melding real-life historical events with the rich fiction of a secret war that has been waging for centuries between two ideologically opposed groups, the franchise lends itself well to theory and conjecture.
We asked Ubisoft to chart some of the most important events in the sprawling conflict between the Assassins and the Templars. They gave us the following text, which we've placed in a handy timeline for you to peruse. If you read closely, you'll encounter some information about the storyline that has never been fully revealed until now. You'll also notice some wide gaps in history where details have been left out by Ubisoft's writers. Draw whatever conclusions you like from that information.
