GI Editors Show How To Get An Easy 1,000 Achievement Score While Annoying Dan

by Jeff Cork on Oct 06, 2010 at 09:45 AM

Dan and I have been having an achievement battle for some time now. It started when he was regrettably hired at Game Informer, and our gamerscore rivalry has blossomed into an all-encompassing disgust for one another. At one point, Dan cheated in the most flagrant way possible, earning a temporary ban from the Game Informer Vault. Even though Dan bragged that he would surpass my score nearly a year ago, that hasn't happened.

Reiner recently heard about an easy way to get 1,000 achievement points, and he purchased a copy of Backyard Football '10 to see if it was true. Phil, Reiner, and I headed to the podcasting room, set up a 360, and got to work. This video is the culmination of that effort. If you watch it, here are just a few things you will learn:

  • I am not very good at football games, even if they are designed for children.
  • Phil likes the television show Friday Night Lights, even though he has only seen the first season.
  • Reiner's Xbox Live account is all messed up, and Microsoft has no idea how to fix it.

Also, you can watch as I get 1,000 points in an hour or so. This is kind of like a podcast, since we stop talking about the game after a while (as it turns out, it's tough to stay on topic when the topic is Backyard Football '10). Well, it's like a podcast except there are moving pictures to accompany our voices.

Let us know if you want to see more features like this in the future. It was a lot of fun to put together, especially since it was designed to antagonize Dastardly Dan Ryckert.
