Last week, we were as surprised as anyone when we saw the new direction Capcom is taking Dante in. The black-haired look was markedly different from what we've seen in the series' previous four entries, and it will be the first to be helmed by a western developer. With all the talk about Devil May Cry recently, we started thinking about how a movie based on Dante's adventures would turn out. Our previous casting calls have been based on real movies in development, but there aren't any actual plans for a DMC film as of right now. If there was, here's who we'd picture in the top roles.
New Dante - Jared Leto (Requiem For A Dream, Lord of War)
As great as the DMC series is, it doesn't have a history of particularly well-written or well-delivered lines of dialogue. That's why Jared Leto would be perfect. Not only does he look like a total emo hipster toolbag, he's also a terrible actor. He'd feel right at home delivering horrible lines like "I should have been the one to fill your dark soul with liiiiiiiiiight!". Like all crappy actors, Leto also thinks he's a musician (something he's even worse at than acting). We don't know much about the new Dante yet, but based on his look we're assuming he either performs or wants to perform in a crappy emo band. However, we're willing to bet he doesn't own a sweet electric guitar that shoots demon bats like the old Dante had.
Trish - Ali Larter (Varsity Blues, Heroes)
Agnus - Crispin Glover (Back To The Future, Willard)
If they could get him in a muscle suit or do some convincing CGI, Crispin's could play Agnus even with his wiry frame. We'd just have to hope he doesn't have one of his drug-induced freakouts on set (Also, thanks to GI user Ghostpig for pointing me towards this amazing Crispin Glover music video).
