Sea Of Solitude: Director's Cut Announced For Nintendo Switch

by Liana Ruppert on Dec 10, 2020 at 04:50 PM

Sea of Solitude is a wonderfully charming adventure game that takes imagination and makes it soar. For those who love to take their adventures with them on the go, this journey is making its way onto Nintendo Switch devices everywhere with The Director's Cut on March 4.

The beautiful story is making its way onto the Switch with the Director's Cut, but it's not just making a platform shift, there are new features for players to enjoy as well.

A new photo mode, new scenes, new voices, and more can be experienced with this Nintendo Switch-exclusive Director's Cut, giving returning players something new to enjoy and new players something to look forward to.

The original experience tackled the complex topic of mental health beautifully and tactfully. A rewarding experience that offers expressive characters, meaningful progression, and a hauntingly charming story. We gave the game a 7.5 when it first released last year, which you can learn more about with our full review here, as well as a small preview with the blurb below:

While an empty world is often seen as a negative in games, it feels appropriate here not just for the effective horror elements, but also because it reflects Kay’s feelings and adds intrigue to the mystery. I kept wondering how Kay ended up alone and why monsters are the only living beings left. Answers to these questions aren’t always handed to you, but I enjoyed trying to piece together bits myself through my own interpretations and messages left behind in bottles.

Sea of Solitude provides an insightful look at how mental health devastates the lives of not just those it affects, but also loved ones on the outside. Kay learns a lot about herself by understanding the value of listening, coming to term with her flaws, and not just empathizing with family but also accepting that a simple fix isn’t always possible.

Sea of Solitude Director's Cut makes its way to Nintendo Switch on March 4, 2021. Are you excited to dive in? Sound off with your thoughts in the comment section below!
