Red Dead Redemption II Is A 90GB Download On Xbox One

A few weeks ago we learned PS4 players would have to clear out 105GB of data on their hard drive to make way for Red Dead Redemption II. Now Xbox One players have an idea of how much space to accommodate on their console of choice.

The Microsoft Store page currently lists the game's "Approximate Size" as being 88.57GB. While that may be smaller than PS4's listed size, there could be a reasons for this. For one, it's not clear if "Approximate Size" is listing the download size (the size of all the files users download from the servers, which are often compressed) or the install size (the files as they actually are, after the installer has uncompressed them). A size difference of about 16GB would be in line with the average difference between download and install sizes.

If the listed size is the install size, it could be that the promised month-long exclusive content on PS4 could make up the difference, though that seems unlikely. Either way, players looking to hop back into Rockstar's second take on the Western should start budgeting their streaming and data caps now before the end of the month.
