Capcom Hosting "Unmissable" Ace Attorney Panel At Tokyo Game Show

by Imran Khan on Sep 06, 2018 at 02:30 PM

Capcom has announced that there will be a panel for Gyakuten Saiban, known in America as Ace Attorney, during the Tokyo Game Show later this month on September 22. Capcom made sure to note that the event is "unmissable" for fans of the series.

Whether or not there will be a new game announcement here isn't fully confirmed, however. A similar panel was held last year and no new game announcements were made at that panel, which basically talked to the team behind the Japan-only Dai Gyakuten Saiban games and talking about the anime. A second season of the anime was also announced earlier this year, which might be the subject of the panel.

However, Capcom's chief operating officer Haruhiro Tsujimoto said last year that a new Ace Attorney game is being planned for the Switch for fiscal year 2019. That time frame runs until March of next year, so if they plan to reveal that title anytime soon, they are rapidly running out of events to do so.

We'll find out when Tokyo Game Show comes around later this month.

It's definitely struck me as odd that Tsujimoto talked about the game so freely last year but it hasn't been seen since. I wonder if the new game will bring back Shu Takumi as the writer or if he's off working on another project.
