The lights are on
Braid creator Jonathan Blow's next game, The Witness, has always had an ambiguous release date, but it appears development on the game is beginning to wrap up.
In the latest post on the game's official website, game artist Orsolya Spanyol posted the new screenshot you see above, and wrote, "We are definitely in finish-the-game mode, that’s why the posts have gotten more rare."
The Witness is supposed to release in 2014 for PC and PlayStation 4, and if this recent news post is accurate, then it looks like that will absolutely be the case.

Can't wait for this to release finally. I have been excited about this project since it was revealed.
i absolutely can't wait for this. ever since the first piece i read on it in game informer many moons back.
This and Destiny are the two games I've been waiting for!
FINALLY. That is all.
Oh man I am sucker for thinking games like Myst and Riven. This game seems to have that charm to it and definitely something I look forward to play on my eventual PS4.
Now if only Tack would give me something regarding that Talos Principle game thats been on the works on PC for so long.
Can't wait, man. Braid is one of my top 10 games of last gen, so yeah.
Ok there we go. Haven't heard much of this in a while thought maybe it might have vanished.
Yes, yes, a million times yes. Patiently awaiting this one and there hasn't been much news on it lately.
This is good news, I've been very excited about this for a while, but I'm a little confused on the puzzles. I understand it is entirely about drawing lines, which seems a good fit for the Wii-U gamepad. I'm excited to just start it up, and go into it completely blind, like I did with Limbo, Braid, and Fez.
I can't wait to just explore this game, it's so beautiful! I hope the puzzles are intuitive enough to not become a grind.
I know it's not a massive AAA action-adventure, and I wasn't even a huge fan of Braid like some people were (I still liked it a lot, I just wouldn't put it on my top ten of the generation list), but I'm beyond excited for The Witness. So mysterious. So dramatic. So PS4.
I'm down for some puzzle solving whenever it releases.
I've been excited about this game for a while now and i'm so glad to finally see some kind of update on it.
