Is Gears Of War Spinning Off With Exile?

Earlier today we found out that Epic is readying a meaty Gears of War Triple Pack for release next month. Now a new rumor has popped up suggesting that this collection and Gears of War 3 may not be the only Gears products in the works.

This news comes courtesy of Silicon Era, which reports that Epic has filed a trademark for Gears of War: Exile that included the logo above. Silicon Era notes that Epic was scheduled to make a Gears of War announcement at the VGAs in December before it was pulled at the last second.

Of course, any assumption that Exile is related to that announcement or is a new game is just jumping to a conclusion right now. For all we know, it could be a book set in the Gears of War universe or perhaps even nothing at all. We'll have to wait for official word from Epic, which will hopefully come sooner rather than later.

Thats good news cuz I don't want the Gears Universe to end with GOW3. I thought somethin like this was in the works though.

My guess is that it's the rumored Kinect Gears game that was supposed to be announced when they show off the second round of Kinect titles.

If it's another game, what could it possibly be about? The Marcus prequel mentioned above is a fair guess, but that's about all I can fathom.

Very excited for Gears of War 3, and I'm guessing that GOW: Exile is a prequel story to GOW 3 in comic or movie form. Another full game in production at the same time seems improbable.

Epic is clearly jumping onto the Sony love boat and making a new Gears exclusively for the Ps3. I mean, Obviously. Probably with an enhanced graphics engine as well.

I know in order for that to happen EA would have to take over Epic. Then it would definitely happen.

Edit: Actually I just remembered Epic is working with EA and People can Fly for Bulletstorm. Hmmmmmm....

That is weird how they dropped out of the VGA's and now this...but it seems odd to announce a new game before Gears 3 is even out. Its probably just some fan made thing
