The Giant E3 2015 Games List

by Jeff Marchiafava on Jun 05, 2015 at 11:17 AM

There's no shortage of gaming conventions throughout the year, but the Electronic Entertainment Expo is still the show where you're likely to see the biggest reveals and newest demos. That's why we've compiled a handy list of all the games we're expecting to see, which we will be updating as more announcements are made.

So far, only a handful of games have been confirmed by their respective publishers to be at the show, and are consequently labeled as such. If you don't see the word "Confirmed" next to the game's name, it means the title might not be there, but we expect (or in some cases hope) to see it in some form at the show.

Matt Miller, Matt Kato, Mike Futter, and Brian Shea also contributed to this feature.

Update: We've added 11 more confirmed titles, including Overkill's The Walking Dead, a new current-gen Earth Defense Force, and Goliath.

Advent XCOM 2
2K Games has revealed that the project it was recently teasing, codenamed Advent, is actually a sequel to 2012's critically acclaimed XCOM: Enemy Unknown. XCOM 2 takes place 20 years after the last game, and must fight back against a tyrannical government ruled by aliens. The game is scheduled to come out in November, so we're expecting to learn more about it come E3.

Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey

Armikrog

Assassin's Creed Syndicate
The long-running franchise heads to Victorian-era London for its new installment, and stars a brother and sister looking to halt the Templar's plans for the British Empire. We hope E3 affords the chance to learn more about the female protagonist, Evie, and how the new combat and traversal mechanics play.

Batman: Arkham Knight

Battleborn (Confirmed)
Gearbox's upcoming competitive multiplayer game features first-person showdowns with a MOBA twist. A variety of unique and over-the-top characters face off over the last star in the galaxy, but the studio's signature sense of humor remains intact. We expect to get more hands-on time with the game this E3.

BattleCry

Below
It's been awhile since we've heard from this roguelike by Capybara, and as one of Microsoft's indie exclusives (at least for a short while), it would be great to see how this mysterious top-down adventure into the depths is coming along.

Broforce

Coming Up Next: Some of the biggest FPS franchises in the business...

Call of Duty: Black Ops III (Confirmed)
Treyarch has made it clear that Black Ops III will be pushing the series ahead in significant ways. We've already seen the new setting, traversal options, and Specialists in action, and now we want to see what's next for the upcoming Call of Duty title.

Corpse Party: Blood Drive (Confirmed)
Team Grisgris' third and final game in the Heavenly Host trilogy is a narrative-heavy horror game. The title features binaural audio to maximize the impact while wearing headphones.

Crackdown

Darkest Dungeon

Destiny Expansion
With House of Wolves now in the wild, Destiny players are beginning to look ahead to what comes next. Rumors are flying about a larger expansion targeting release in September, and we're hoping E3 gives us a glimpse of the new content on the way for Bungie's open-world shooter.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

Disney Infinity 3.0

Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition (Confirmed)

The Division (Confirmed)
The Division blew players away when it was unveiled at E3 2013, and it has remained relatively elusive ever since. E3 2015 will hopefully deliver some solid looks at the open-world shooter/MMO hybrid. Taking place after an apocalyptic disease wipes out a big chunk of humanity, don't expect this to be the cheeriest demo, but we anticipate it to be one of the more impressive ones.

Doom (Confirmed)
Previously known as Doom 4, Bethesda has big plans for the game at the convention, and early teaser footage featured a gruesome Revenant demon with a dual-firing weapon strapped to its back.

Earth Defense Force 2: Invaders from Planet Space (Confirmed)
Earth Defence Force 2 will be released in the west for the first time with four-player cooperative play, a new class, and English voiceovers. XSEED has confirmed the Vita game will be at E3.

Earth Defense Force 4.1 – The Shadow of New Despair (Confirmed)
XSEED also recently announced this updated version of Earth Defense Force 2025, which marks the series' first current-gen appearance. It sports improved performance, new content amounting to more than 50 percent of the original, two-player local co-op, and four player online co-op.

Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight

Everybody's Gone to the Rapture

Fable Legends

Coming Up Next: One of the most anticipated – and still unannounced – games of E3...

Fallout 4 (Confirmed)
According to our recent poll, no game at E3 has our readers more excited than Fallout 4. Thankfully, Bethesda is prepared to give fans what they've been longing for; the developer confirmed that Fallout 4 is in the works with an announcement trailer comprised of in-game footage, which teases the new Boston setting, a potential canine companion, and flashes of life before the war. Even better, Bethesda announced that Fallout 4 will be at E3, taking center stage during its E3 press conference this year. We'll be live-streaming the event, so stop by on the evening of Sunday, June 14 for lots of Fallout talk!

Final Fantasy VII

Fortnite
The Gears of War series cemented Epic Games as masters of death and destruction, but the developer's newest game is a little more constructive. Fortnite tasks players with creating their own strongholds out of collected scrap in a surprisingly colorful post-apocalyptic setting. Don't worry, though: You'll still shoot, slice, and explode plenty of foes in a variety of PvE and PvP settings.

Forza Motorsport 6

Galak-Z: The Dimensional

Gears of War (Confirmed)
Developer Black Tusk as now rebranded itself as The Coalition, and has confirmed that the newest Gears of War will be at Microsoft's E3 press conference. No other details are available yet, but considering the pedigree of the series, we're expecting the new current-gen title to be as gorgeous as it is gory.

Get Even

God Of War III Remastered

Goliath (Confirmed)
Survival/action games are a whole lot easier when you've got a mech by your side. Targeting a winter 2016 release for PC and Mac, Viva Media and Whalebox Studio’s take on the survival genre features massive constructs that you can hop in to take on the dangers of various biomes and larger-than-life bosses, both solo or with friends. Goliath will be at E3, but you can find out more details about the game right here.

Gran Turismo 7
The world is still waiting for the first Gran Turismo on the PlayStation 4, and creator Kazunori Yamauchi has already stated that he sees the game coming out in the next few years and that it won't be preceded by a prologue version. With the game using parts of GT 6, including its engine and distinction between standard and premium cars, will it feel like a true PlayStation 4 title?

Guitar Hero Live

Halo 5: Guardians
Even after a public multiplayer beta, 343 Industries has remained very quiet on Halo 5's campaign and story. We expect that to change at this year's big show, where we hope to learn what those armor-clad Spartans are up to this time.

Hellblade

Hollowpoint (Confirmed)

Coming Up Next: Open-world insanity...

Hunt: Horrors Of The Gilded Age (Confirmed)
Crytek is embracing co-op with a new four-player third-person shooter that mixes action and survival horror elements. Environments are procedurally generated and feature high enemy counts and boss fights. Crytek has confirmed that Hunt will be at E3.

Hyper Light Drifter

Inside

Just Cause 3
Avalanche Studios has been getting a lot of attention for Mad Max lately, but its other open-world chaos simulator has us just as excited. Just Cause 3 hasn't officially been confirmed for E3 yet, but given the fact that Square Enix is holding its own press conference this year, we'd be shocked to not see more of Rico Rodriguez – or get hands-on gameplay.

Kingdom Hearts III
We don't know much about Square Enix's long-anticipated next entry in its beloved crossover series, but we do know that it's in development for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. We're hoping that the Disney and Final Fantasy mash-up universe is another star of Square Enix's press conference this year.

King's Quest

The Last Guardian

The Legends of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel (Confirmed)
The Legend of Heroes comes west again, for both release and this year's E3. This story takes place in the same world and continent as Trails in the Sky. The title will support cross-save between PS3 and Vita.

Lego Dimensions
Warner Bros.' foray into the toy-to-life game genre isn't exactly original, but it does have a number of things going for it. Lego has already proven that its minifigs are highly popular on their own, and Warner Bros. is bringing a number of prominent IPs to the table, including Batman, Lord of the Rings, Back to the Future, and more. We're guessing the blocky little figures will be front and center at Warner Bros.' booth this year.

Lego Marvel Avengers

Let It Die

Mad Max (Confirmed)
Max ventures out into the Wasteland, trying to rebuild the Magnum Opus and seeing what sticks to the end of its harpoon. With the movie wowing audiences, we're sure there will be plenty of gamers excited to get their hands on this title at E3 even though the two properties are only mildly related.

Madden NFL 16

Magic Duels: Origins

Coming Up Next: A few dream games that fans have been patiently waiting for...

Mario Maker (Confirmed)
Nintendo fans have been dreaming of making their own Super Mario Bros. levels forever, and Nintendo is finally giving them their chance. While not as robust as a game like LittleBigPlanet, Mario Maker provides players with an in-game editor to make SMB levels in a variety of styles from the series. Nintendo has confirmed Mario Maker will be playable at the show.

Mass Effect 4
Very little definitive info is known about the next Mass Effect, but it doesn't halt our excitement to see what BioWare has up its sleeve. We're hoping E3 finally offers some details about how this universe is changing after the conclusion of Shepard's epic adventure.

Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain (Confirmed)

Minecraft: Story Mode

Mirror's Edge 2 (Confirmed)
EA's first-person parkour title is sure to make a big splash at the company's press conference before the convention officially opens, and gamers have been starved for details. The prequel to the 2008 game being developed by DICE will hopefully be playable as it's scheduled to come out by early next year.

NBA 2K16

Need For Speed

NHL 16

No Man's Sky
The excitement for No Man's Sky has reached galactic proportions, and with good reason; thanks to smart use of procedurally generated content, Hello Games' open-world exploration game promises a nearly endless amount of planets to explore. The small indie developer has been pretty much off the radar since our cover-story trip last year, which makes us wonder what E3 holds for the title, but last we heard Hello Games is still aiming for a 2015 launch.

Coming Up Next: More big franchises on the horizon...

Onechanbara Z2: Chaos (Confirmed)
Vampire sisters (sorry, this says "buxom vampire sisters") will face off against zombies. This marks the series premiere on current-gen consoles, and will support English and original Japanese voiceovers. XSEED has confirmed the game will be at E3 – hopefully not with cosplayers in tow.

Overkill's The Walking Dead (Confirmed)
Move over, Clementine: Payday developer Overkill has confirmed that its take on Robert Kirman's Walking Dead series will be at E3 this year. The game is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and focuses more on cooperative zombie-slaying than Telltale's adventure series.

Overwatch
With World of Warcraft, StarCraft, Hearthstone, and Heroes of the Storm, Blizzard has proven to be a masterful developer in a variety of genres. We're already captivated by its first foray into the first-person shooter genre. With accessible gameplay, fast-paced matches, and inventive weapons to use on opponents, Overwatch looks like it could be yet another hit for the prolific company.

Persona 5

Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon

Quantum Break

Rainbow Six Siege

Return to PololoCrois: A Story of Seasons Fairy Tale (Confirmed)
This upcoming farming and life-simulation game for 3DS features turn-based combat, 600 items, and almost 100 quests across over 25 hours of play.

Rise of the Tomb Raider (Confirmed)
Lara Croft's latest adventure picks up after her harrowing trials on the island of Yamatai, and this time sends her into the wilds of Siberia. We're crossing our fingers to see some new gameplay that showcases the titular tomb raider actually exploring some tombs – a feature we wanted more of in her 2013 reboot.

Rock Band 4

Rory McIlroy PGA Tour

Scalebound
Microsoft hasn't said much about this Platinum Games/Hideki Kamiya Xbox One exclusive since it was announced last year, but rest assured, it has dragons. Creative director Ken Lobb intimated earlier this year during the Inner Circle podcast that the game might be an open-world RPG. Here's hoping we find out at this year's E3.

Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson (Confirmed)
The Senran Kagura 2.5D brawler series features "high-flying, clothes-ripping battle mechancis." One player can control two fighters at once, or two players can team up for co-op.

Senran Kagura: Estival Versus (Confirmed)
This version of the Senran Kagura series supports ten players online on PS4 and four players on Vita.

Shadowrun: Hong Kong

Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem (Confirmed)

Soma

Star Fox (Confirmed)
Many of us have fond memories of playing Star Fox in the '90s, but the series hasn't received a sequel that stands up to those standards since the Nintendo 64 days. We want to see the upcoming Wii U Star Fox in action and we want to know when we'll be able to play it at home. Thankfully, Nintendo has confirmed the game will be at the show.

Star Wars: Battlefront (Confirmed)
Battlefront fans and detractors alike have had countless questions following the reboot's reveal back in April, and E3 is guaranteed to provide some answers. DICE has already confirmed that it will be showing actual gameplay at the show, which should give us a better idea of what to expect when the game launches this November.

The Swindle

Tearaway Unfolded

Coming Up Next: There's no shame in dreaming big...

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5
The series returns to its heyday, with tight gameplay and laser focus, while adding fully integrated online functionality. We got hands-on with an early build of the game, and the next step for it is to unleash it on the public. We don't know if the game will be playable at E3, but hopefully the gameplay feel of THPS 5 is better than Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD, which was also developed by Robomodo.

Torment: Tides of Numenera

Unannounced Star Wars Project
We may have to chalk this one up to wishful thinking, but we've known for quite some time that Visceral Games has been working on a new Star Wars game, and that former Uncharted creative director Amy Hennig is heading the project. A few social media clues hint to it possibly involving Han Solo, but nothing concrete has come out yet. What better place to announce than E3?

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End
Nathan Drake's latest adventure introduces us to our hero's long-lost brother, Sam, and takes the duo hunting for a mysterious pirate utopia near Madagascar. Naughty Dog has a reputation for eye-popping E3 demos, and there's good reason to believe that reputation will be maintained at this year's show.

Until Dawn

Untitled Skylanders Game

Volume

The Witness

Xenoblade Chronicles X (Confirmed)

Yoshi's Woolly World
The cute platformer was a pleasant surprise at E3 last year, and with an extra year of development since it was unveiled, Yoshi's Woolly World could see a fleshed-out demo taking the stage at Nintendo's Digital Event. With cooperative play and interesting Amiibo support, Yoshi's Woolly World could be Nintendo's next big release for the Wii U, and we anticipate hearing more about its launch details come E3.
