The lights are on
Toon Link isn't a clone of the more realistic looking hero. Wind Waker's champion brings a set of tools that are unique to his adventure, and we're glad to see him included in the Wii U and 3DS versions of Super Smash Bros.
With the release of Wind Waker HD, Toon Link's appearance on the roster makes sense. You can see how he'll appear on both platforms below. Super Smash Bros. on Wii U and 3DS will be out in 2014.
We've also got images of the Wii Fit Trainer and Animal Crossing Villager, Princess Peach, and a new Pilotwings stage.

I honestly dont care about the returning characters, I want to see more new ones!
Yet another predictable character, when are we going to bet another un-expected character?
I was worried that Wind Waker Link wouldn't be in the game. This pleases me.
He was a much better fighter anyway.
He was more or less a clone just like Young Link in Brawl...hoping the two are a bit more different this time around. Same attacks and everything, just slightly different effects...I'm not sure how seeing how Link's repertoire is pretty shallow but the gap must be widened!
Toon link and Peach
"DAM IT MOM!"
You know i'm really hoping for Terry/slime (Dragon warrior: Monsters) to appear in the game :/
Was really hoping for the return of Young Link, especially with ALBW on the horizon, but I guess Toon Link makes sense. Still, Link is my favorite, and I've always enjoyed playing as Toon Link, so it'll be fun to play as him again!
Yay! Toon Link is so adorable. I like how he look's a lot closer to his in-game appearance in The Wind Waker than he did in Brawl.
Come see me when you get confirmation that Krystal from Starfox Adventures has been selected for the smash roster.
WOOHOO!I love the LoZ franchise! And Wind Waker is one of my favorites!
