The lights are on
Major Nelson announced details for Microsoft’s Summer of Arcade this morning, which included a list of titles with their prices and release dates. Summer of Arcade is an annual XBLA promotion that typically marks the release of four or five new games.
Those who purchase at least two Summer of Arcade 2013 titles will receive a free in-game Soul Pack for Ascend: Hand of Kul.
The full lineup with details is below:
Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons – August 7 – 1,200 MS points ($15)
Charlie Murder – August 14 – 800 MS points ($10)
Flashback – August 21 – 800 MS points ($10)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows – August 28 – 1,200 MS points ($15)
Take a look at the Summer of Arcade trailer released last month during E3 here.
Our TakeThis is Microsoft’s sixth consecutive year holding its Summer of Arcade promotion (known as Winter of Arcade in the southern hemisphere). It kicks off nearly a month later than last year. In terms of highly anticipated titles, this lineup isn't quite as strong as we've seen in the past.
The Summer of Arcade promotion has typically come with a discount for purchasing multiple games in the form of returned MS points. The fact that this year’s bonus comes in the form of an in-game item pack is somewhat exclusionary for those who don’t own or want to play Ascend: Hand of Kul.

What if I don't play Ascend: Hand of Kul?
I really really hope TMNT will be good, or at least better then the remake a few years back.
Won't be getting any of these... still surprised State of Decay wasn't held to put in this line up, that way it could have been more polished off. Does anybody know if the new patch has fixed most of the problems?
Gonna get TMNT and either Charlie Murder or Brothers.
I find it strange that they call this the Summer of Arcade, yet they release it in August, which is considered the end of Summer. I would think July would be the time to release these. IDK, just seems strange to me.
I'll likely pick up all 4 of these at some point, but TMNT I will wait on. The other three have me very interested and will likely be picked up during the Summer of Arcade event.
Late lineup, no bonus for everyone, sounds like MS.
Another strange thing about this line-up is the exclusivity. Charlie Murder is the only game that isn't on PSN. The best one has to be 2009. It has Trials HD, Splosion Man, and Shadow Complex. That's a strong line-up.
You don't need to own Ascend, it's a free game.
Scientifically Accurate Ninja Turtles!
So on a more important note....when does Ascend: Hand Of Kul come out?
Weakest lineup yet and the first year I don't see myself buying at least one of the games.
These games don't seem very interesting to me.
None of them for this non-X-Boxer. :(
