Brothers - A Tale Of Two Sons Dev Walkthrough And New Screens

Last September, Starbreeze and 505 Games announced a partnership with Swedish film director Josef Fares (Kopps, Jalla! JallaI) on the game Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons. The downloadable title stars two sons searching for a cure to aid their dying father. Today we have a fresh batch of screens and a video walkthrough with Fares for the upcoming game.

The game isn’t co-op, but instead players control both of the brothers to progress through the world. 505 Games promises the game will boast an accessible control scheme which lets players control each brother with separate analog sticks. Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons’ dire story also aims to tug at your heartstrings. The game features a clean, HUD-less view into the world which should help draw players into the experience.

Here is a video walkthrough with game director Josef Fares:

Check the media gallery below for the new screenshots. The game is due to arrive on PSN, XBLA, and PC this spring.

  • It looks....good.

  • Hopefully it comes to the eShop.

  • Looks pretty interesting. I've always kind of wondered about the idea of a game like this, were you could control two characters simultaneously with each side of the controller

  • I dig it. Very cool idea.

  • Strange...Brother Bear comes to mind.

  • I think I would enjoy that game. I'm ready for something that is more centered on puzzles and passive gameplay, as versus shooting someone every half second. I just picked up proteus, which is a good one to play if you're looking for an escape.
  • I was sold the second I saw that you get to ride goats.
  • This actually looks really good

  • This game looks really cool. I might download "big brother" and "little brother".

  • I've really been looking forward to this game. I love emotional/heart-felt games
  • I really like Starbreeze Studios. They make great games. Syndicate was really good, I felt, though went somewhat under-appreciated. It's great to see them branching out and trying something new. While it might be an already established genre (the platform-puzzle game), the approach with the dual sticks, "single player co-op" interface looks really unique. Can't wait to give it a shot. Best part of that video: winding up the crossbow bolt... HA!
  • Nice new, fresh idea! Nice to see!

  • This really looks interesting. It's nice to see some fresh ideas at work.

  • This actually looks really awesome. I am looking forward to it.

  • I never heard of this game but it looks beautiful.

  • This looks fantastic.

  • love the art style and character interaction but the gamplay seems a little boring

  • I will be downloading this game. This will be a great change of pace from the games I'm playing now.

  • Swedens best film director makes a game? Sounds great!

  • Looks cool, too cool for a starbreeze game
