The lights are on
Late last year, we heard that Final Fantasy XIII-2 would be receiving Assassin's Creed clothing for main character Noel as DLC. That seems strange enough, but apparently Square isn't stopping the cross-company, cross-franchise add-ons there. A new rumor suggests that Mass Effect costume DLC is on the way for FF XIII-2.
SiliconEra is reporting this rumor from "a source," with no follow-up information on if the costume will be for Serah or Noel, when it will be released, or how much it might cost. With the release of Mass Effect 3 right around the corner, presumably we'll hear confirmation soon if this is legit.
Here's the real question, though: Who is spending money on dressing up your characters when it doesn't affect the gameplay at all? Maybe if the Mass Effect costume came with a rocket launcher to use in combat or something....
The answer your question: probably the same people who spend money dressing up their avatars.
No, Square. Just...no.
I do find it a little strange that a Japanese company like Square Enix would be working with western companies like EA and Ubisoft to bring western cross-overs to a Japanese game. Would people in Japan have access to this DLC as well? I'm not really sure how popular franchises like Mass Effect and Assassin's Creed are over in Japan.
wait what!? t-this just doesnt make any sense!
Not even a N7 armor can save Noel from looking like a ***
Okay even though costumes in games are very important and fun to play with, this Mass Effect costume isn't neccesary at all. BUT... If it looks cool, then yeah. I'll happily get it.
Extra costumes should be free if you ask me. Or at least make me an offer I can't refuse... 20+ costumes for $1 :P
I would never, allow me to repeat, NEVER waste money on a costume pack that didn't also add in a weapon or something that would actually change the gameplay.
I don't understand this.
I mean i get ubisoft and kojima production throwing easter eggs from mgs AC/splinter Cell, hell even soul calibur is forgivable because its become a trend for guest stars, but AC and mass effect dlc from square just doesn't make sense.
Good question Phil. I never spent any money for DLC. I always get Game of the Year editions or just wait and see if they release all if not most DLC into one disc. Release Final Fantasy Versus XIII already!
Next Mario, or the guy fro neverdead, i would be happy with both.
I don't understand why people are complaining so much. If you don't like FFXIII, is it really necessary to let everyone know you agree with them? If you don't like the DLC, don't buy it. Gamers are becoming (or have been) a whiny bunch that seem to think they're entitled to the best. Obviously, if FFXIII/-2/XIV are doing poorly, they need to make some of their money back.
A costume is not causing me any harm, so I don't see why some of you write like it's a slap in the face, or how terrible Square-Enix is being, because I would like to see anyone commenting do something as simple as making an alternate costume, let alone making a chapter of DLC to add to a beautiful looking game.
This could work ,if it was story DLC with a weapon and costume.
I don't know anyone that bought this game..
Me.
Whoa whoa whoa, Squenix! Just because your writers got into the chemicals underneath the kitchen sink and have been sucking back on those for the last two Final Fantasy installments, doesn't mean it's okay to go and cheapen Bioware's reputation. I don't want you having a bad influence on them.
I hate you.
