The lights are on
You might be familiar with our weekly feature called Weekend Warrior where we detail the games that we expect to play during the upcoming weekend. Well, things don't always go as planned. While shooting another video for the upcoming digital issue of Game Informer, associate editor Tim Turi and senior associate editor Jeff Cork took a break to talk about the games that they actually played last weekend. Watch the video below to hear them talk about their experience with Intel Discovered, Banjo Kazooie on the livestream, Doom 3, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, and why Jeff Cork is a horrific father. Let us know what you think of the video in the comments.
Email the author Ben Hanson, or follow on Twitter, and Game Informer.
PLEASE DO MORE OF THESE!
This is pretty awesome. Just hearing the staff talk games is pretty awesome, one of the reasons I like Replay and Test Chamber so much. I could really dig seeing more of these.
(Tim, having beaten Mario 64 and Banjo-Kazooie both within the past two years, I can tell you Banjo-Kazooie definitely aged better. I can also tell you you had a hilariously difficult time with Grunty's boardgame compared to most playthroughs I've seen.)
Jeff how could you?
More of these mixing up the different GI participants every week would be great.
omg.... the mask was priceless
That was awesome. You guys should do this more often.
Love it! Keep cranking those out - at least one a week. HANSON ACTIVATE!!!
*terrifying monster face*
This was great, just do these videos because we'll all watch them.
That was really cool it was kind of like a 60 minutes interview, but gaming relevant. I'd really like to see more of these with other guys from around the office, you know just to see what they're up to.
I love these! so much better to see it than in writing sometimes, plus look at those trees.
Why aren't there more of these kinds of videos on this site? These are fantastic.
Glad you guys enjoyed the video, I appreciate all of the feedback you can give us.
Yes! Do more of these!
LOVE this. It's awesome to hear about what some of the guys are up to in their gaming lives! (btw i had a blast doing a marathon when you guys did yours. Was a extremely fun Saturday!)
Good stuff - love the goofing around, love the outdoor setting, love the fact that Jeff actually played Intel Discovered. My only feedback would be to make it longer - I realize that's dictated by content, so play more games! :), more editors, more games - I think I speak for a vast number of online followers when I say don't change anything, just give us more! It would be great if it were a recurring weekly segment as an addendum to Weekend Warrior or as its own standalone thing. You could tell the guys to feel free to veer more off topic so we get more of a discussion going on.
That's what I would like to see - an open-forum roundtable situation where everyone really digs in and just has a debate about good/bad points of a game or games, what they like/don't like and why - - if you could keep it civil (i.e. no Dan), I think that would be a really cool recurring thing to do. Like Bill Maher, but with videogames instead of politics. I think we'd get a clearer view of the games than by just reading a review.
I love this idea! It turned out really funny, too. I wouldn't mind it being a weekly thing.
I love it
