Ubisoft announced today that the Assassin’s Creed Pirates mobile game is the featured free app in Apple’s App Store this week. The deal coincides with Pirate’s fourth update, which will include new missions, ship customization, and a new daily reward system.

The new missions added with the update take players to La Isla de la Juventud, where they will free slaves by destroying the jail fortress where they are held.

Ship customization has been added in the fourth update to make distinguishing between ships in naval battles easier and to give players a sense of ownership over their vessels. Ship combat itself has also been improved upon. New players should look for the Starter Pack in the store, as well as several new tutorials, which should help acquaint them with the game.

Assassin’s Creed Pirates released for mobile devices on December 5, 2013. It is available for free this week in the App Store, or for $5 on Google Play.
