The Next Call Of Duty DLC Brings Hell-Fire Spewing Dragons To Zombies Mode

by Haley MacLean on Jun 28, 2016 at 07:52 AM

The third DLC pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Descent, is arriving first to PlayStation 4 on July 12, with later platforms to follow. Previous Black Ops II DLC includes Awakening and Eclipse.

The pack comes with four new multiplayer maps, with both some familiar and brand-new settings.

  • Empire: by re-imagining the Black Ops II fan-favorite map Raid, this medium-sized locale feature a Roman villa recreated by an eccentric billionaire.
  • Berserk: a viking village frozen in time, this map will have players battle to control the center bridge while fending off both enemies and blizzards.
  • Rumble: massive robots stand within an arena as they battle to the admiration of the crowd. Players will fight beneath them while trying to avoid falling mechs and pyrotechnics.
  • Cryogen: off the coast of the Dead Sea is a compound where the most dangerous criminals have been cryogenically frozen. Weave around their frozen tubes in a circular map that's surrounded by sentry towers as they keep watch.

This DLC will also include the next chapter of the Origins zombie saga, Gorod Krovi. Located in an alternate universe in the Soviet Union in the 1940's, zombies are part mechanized as you battle them in swarms amidst fiery aerial dragon assaults within the what remains of Stalingrad. This next chapter will feature new enemies, weapons, and gameplay mechanics.

Descent is now available for pre-order on the PlayStation 4 network at a discounted rate via the Call of Duty: Black Ops III DLC season pass. However, it is also available for individual purchase for $15. Starting today, those who preorder the Descent DLC will receive an exclusive Gorod Krovi dynamic theme for their PS4. Information on availability on other platforms is said to follow soon.
