La-Mulana 2 Kickstarter Closes With Four Stretch Goals Met

by Kyle Hilliard on Feb 23, 2014 at 05:02 AM

After achieving its Kickstarter goal a few days ago, the campaign to fund La-Mulana 2 has come to a close raising a little over $50,000 past its $200,000 goal.

With 5,200 backers, La-Mulana 2 raised $266,670 of its initial $200,000 goal. The additional funds unlocked four stretch goals. The first two, Curry Party and Curry Hell, don't actually add content to the game. Instead, the team will enjoy a party where they eat curry live on Twitch for Curry Party. Curry Hell will have La-Mulana 2 director Takumi Naramura eat curry three times a day for three days, which apparently allow him to make a better game. Father's Diary will add to the game a section revealing what happens between the first game and the sequel. Finally, the Monster Guide will add an in-game bestiary detailing all the new monster for La-Mulana 2.

Our Take
The first two stretch goals for the game were definitely odd and atypical – but I like it. Hopefully, developer Playism Games can work out some kind of marketing deal with a curry company to help promote the game.
