Long Gone Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 DLC Returns

by Phil Kollar on Jul 01, 2010 at 10:35 AM

Like a recently killed superhero returning from the grave to fight crime once more, Activision has announced that some Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 DLC that had been available around the game's release before being pulled will be making a return for a limited time.

The 800 Microsoft Point/$9.99 pack includes five playable characters: Magneto, Black Panther, Carnage, Psylocke, and Cable. Additionally, they're also making Juggernaut (previously a pre-order only bonus character) available for 160 Microsoft Points or $1.99.

Activision community guy Dan Amrich explains the drama surrounding this DLC pack a bit more on his blog, One of Swords. It was originally available from November 5, 2009 until the end of last year, when it was pulled due to "the end of a biz deal." This was especially frustrating since in addition to new characters, the DLC included bonus Achievements and Trophies that were essentially rendered impossible to unlock for anyone who hadn't purchased the pack in time. Oh, and players who had downloaded the DLC weren't able to play online with players who hadn't.

Apparently the business deal in question has been temporarily renewed. The DLC pack is back online starting today and will remain available on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network until December 31, 2010. If you missed your chance the first time, this time you have no excuse.
