Apple's App Store Contains Over 500,000 Games

Apple's App store has long been called a bloated marketplace, and we now know just how many games are in it. At today's Apple keynote, Tim Cook, the company's chief executive officer, revealed that the App Store contains over 500,000 games. That's a boggling number, and it'll soon grow one larger with the addition of Super Mario Run, the surprising announcement by Nintendo and Mario's creator, Shigeru Miyamoto.

The game marketplace has been enormously successful for Apple, and according to Cook, is the most successful category in the App Store.

Of those 500,000 games, which ones have you enjoyed or continue to find yourself playing? For me personally, this year's releases of Clash Royale and Pokémon Go rank among my favorites, but the Hearthstone port is damn good, and I still find myself playing the Infinity Blade titles from time to time.
