The Art Of The Last Of Us Video Is As Beautiful As You'd Expect

by Wayne Stainrook on Jul 28, 2014 at 12:33 PM

Even on previous-generation hardware, Naughty Dog's The Last of Us captivated audiences and critics alike with its stunning visuals. Now, with a remaster on PlayStation 4, we have even more reason to look back and admire the artistry of our favorite PlayStation 3 title.

Olivier Leclair brings us another entry in his The Art Of series, this time juxtaposing gameplay and artwork of Joel and Ellie’s journey across the country and their struggle for survival. The stills capture the sense of beautiful devastation in the game’s overgrown cityscapes, while the urban settings convey a serene sense of quiet that contrasts the foreboding eeriness of the rural areas (please mind the video's spoiler warning!).

For more on The Last of Us, check out this wonderful The Last of Us print from San Diego Comic-Con and read our review of the PS4 remaster. To see more of Leclair's work, watch his previous videos on The Witcher and Bioshock.
