EA And DICE Considering Cross-Gen Battlefield 4 Profile Transfer
Earlier this week, EA Sports announced two slightly different mechanisms for transferring Ultimate Team profiles across the generational gap. FIFA 14 and Madden 25 will both support this feature. Now fans have asked EA about how Battlefield 4 will handle this.
In a response via Twitter from the official Battlefield 4 account, things seem hopeful.
We've heard reports that players would like their stats and progression to transfer from current to next-gen in #BF4. We're investigating.

For those who want to get a head start on Battlefield 4 when it arrives on October 29, 2013, for current generation consoles, this would certainly be an attractive feature.
Our Take
EA would be foolish not to devote resources to making this happen. Certainly not every Battlefield player will be lured into buying multiple copies, but there are no doubt those who would gladly do so just to play a few days or weeks early.
Even better would be the option to have profiles unified across platforms. This would prevent some of those planning on trading in the current generation version from doing so if some of their friends aren't making the jump. This isn't an issue we need to deal with every year, but it does illustrate how tricky generational transitions are.
