BioWare Unveils Mass Effect 2 Collectors' Edition

by Meagan Marie on Nov 05, 2009 at 03:16 AM

No triple-A title should be without a collectors' edition these days, as evidenced by the recent God of War III unveil and the super exclusive Uncharted 2 Fortune Hunter Edition. Mass Effect 2 is joining the bandwagon in an admirable way with their own collectors' edition.

So what is included? Available January 26, the collectors’ edition comes in a tin case with the full game, 48-page “Art of Mass Effect 2” book, Issue #1 of the Mass Effect Redemption comic and a DVD full of behind the scenes videos. As for non-tangible bonuses, the collectors’ edition will ship with exclusive in-game weapons and armor, some of which can be seen in the gallery below. The collector's edition will sell for $69.99 on the Xbox 360 and $59.99 on PC.

“We’re really excited to roll out this Collectors’ Edition featuring so many unique items, including special Collectors’ Edition armor and weapons and content that will surprise Mass Effect fans,” said Dr. Ray Muzyka, co-founder, BioWare and Group General Manager of the RPG/MMO Group of EA. “The limited edition comic book and bonus DVD will really enhance and expand the overall Mass Effect 2 experience.”
