New Trailer For The Elder Scrolls Online, Imperial Edition Confirmed

A new trailer for Zenimax Online Studios’ upcoming Elder Scrolls MMO, comes alongside confirmation of yesterday’s reports of an Imperial Edition. Now we have the specific details of what’s included.

The premium package for Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls Online comes with a 12 inch statue of Daedric prince Molag Bal, a key antagonist in the game, a map of Tamriel, unique packaging, and a number of digital elements. With the Imperial Edition, you’ll gain access to a white horse, a mudcrab pet, and the Rings of Mara in-game item that awards an experience bonus.

The Imperial Edition is also the only way to play as the Imperial race. Additionally, all pre-orders will have access to the Explorer’s Pack. This ensures that any characters you create can join any alliance regardless of race, a Scutter pet, and four digital treasure maps.

The video below is a cinematic fight around a "dark anchor" point. We saw one of these events unfold in-game in a recent video. The Imperial Edition is priced at $99.99. A digital version (without the statue and map) is available directly from Bethesda and some retailers for $79.99. Those that purchase either the digital standard or Imperial edition from Bethesda and select other retailers will get access five days before the rest of the public.

The Elder Scrolls Online will be available for PC and Mac on April 4, 2014. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions are coming in June.

  • What a load of garbage. Nothing about that trailer even vaguely resembles TES.
  • Just to forewarn people that didn't get into the beta for this game it is world of Warcraft with different characters. So if you don't like WoW then this game is not for you. I for one think it's not very good but I also did not like WoW.
  • Well, these is enough in that edition to warrant a purchase. But I'm not sure how I feel about giving the edition exclusivity to the Imperial Race. Will it be permanent or timed for that matter? Either way, looks like this will be the edition I will purchase, since I've always been fond on playing an Imperial in the Elder Scrolls series.
  • The link to the Amazon leak article says Imperial Edition allows you to play as an Imperial in any alliance, but this article says it's the only way to play as Imperial. Am I reading one of these wrong or is this contradictory?
  • Damn. That High Elf lady is a beast. I'm not normally a fan of High Elves, more because I enjoy hacking and chopping as a warrior, but wow. I might have to give a mage style character a whirl when I get this game.
  • That price isn't nearly as bad as I thought it'd be.

  • From everything we've seen it looks pretty good I'm still on the side though that won't pay $60 plus $15 a month to play this unless those guy's who appeared to be Dedra are a secret playable faction then in that case...

  • *queue obligatory horse armour joke*

I wonder if I can get any amrour for my white horse?

  • i want that

  • 99.99? I have an Alduin sitting on my shelf who is really surprised.
  • I wanted so bad not to care about this game, but the more I see and read, the more impressed I am. This may be my first purchase on PS4. And the bonuses for this edition are totally worth it

  • Can they just go ahead and make an entire movie in this style?

  • $100 special edition, STILL have to pay $15/month to play.

  • I enjoyed the NJ Yaiba commercial more than the movie footage they presented.. lol

  • You need this edition to play as Imperials? That's crap. I can't believe they'd do that. I don't mind them offering bonuses or incentives, but they're holding a fundamental element of the Elder Scrolls hostage.
  • That trailer looked absolutely nothing like the Elder Scrolls. The art style was just totally wrong.
  • Star Wars The Old Republic had an amazing CGI before the launch as well. Shame they make people pay more to pick the race they wish to play.

  • Everyone complaining about the $15 monthly sub fee must be new to MMOs. This F2P and B2P era has strained this genre for far too long. Every great MMO in the passed has had a sub fee and there is a reason behind it. Go play GW2 and their horrendous PvP; or better yet go play Wizards 101 lawl.
  • I don't know how I'm going to pay for it, but damn it I'm going to try! I couldn't care less what all of the naysayers say, after all this is the internet. Sadly I never got into any of the beta tests, but several friends who have said it was really damn fun, so I'm looking forward to it.

  • My time spent in the beta (3 tests) really turned me off from the game. It feels almost like a mixture of GW2 and an even more streamlined Skyrim, definitely not worth the sub imo, and that's coming from someone who's paying for both WoW and FF14 atm. Not super happy about them locking out a race, either. Yes, I know they're the bad guys, but you shouldn't lock big stuff like that behind a paywall in a P2P game.
