The lights are on
One picture may be worth a thousand words, but even that isn’t enough to convey the breadth of ZeniMax’s new MMO.
Yesterday you got a glimpse of Game Informer’s June cover story, Elder Scrolls Online. Today, we give you an exclusive first look at what the game will look like in action.
What’s going on here? In this image, you can see a couple player characters battling some Storm Atronachs. Storm Atronach are a species of daedra (divine creatures that come from magical dimensions) that are constructed from stone and held together by magic. The most powerful of all the atronachs, Storm Atronach are immune to normal weapons and shock attacks, are resistant to poisons, and can reflect spells back at their caster.
Is that all?Behind the battle is a series of daedric ruins. These great towers were built long ago by an ancient race of people, but they’re not the only landmarks players will discover throughout their journey. As players travel through Skyrim, Morrowind, Cyrodiil, and the rest of Tamriel they will encounter various dwarven ruins, ancient nordic tombs, decayed dwemer buildings, and many other ancient locales, some of which players may have discovered in previous Elder Scrolls games.
I still want more!We know you do, but that’s all for today. If you missed it, Elder Scrolls Online’s first teaser trailer released earlier today, and check back next week for more exclusive Elder Scrolls content.

That doesn't look very Elder Scrolls to me. Also, no first person? This is just "generic MMO No.3,248" masquerading as an Elder Scrolls game, isn't it?
I can only imagine the bugs come time for launch...
just another mmo...
I was thinking about getting a second nvidia GTX 560 ti, or the new gtx... 680? I don't think I'll need to upgrade looking at this screen. Just an impression.
Mixed feeling about this still looking forward to it....
Those screenshots does not remind me of tes.
I smell a big fail coming up
This is going to make the wait for this game agonizing.
Time and time and time again whenever I buy a game that the rest of the gaming community seems to love, I end up absolutely hating it. I have played so many popular games I consider worthless garbage that I have lost count. I don't know why so many other people love buying garbage, but they do. Most of the games I love are ill-received by everyone else.
... Which is why I am absolutely ecstatic that everyone else here seems unimpressed with this news. I love Elder Scrolls and for years I have been wishing that they would make an MMO. Bethesda is one of the few game companies I still have respect for, and I have full confidence that they will make this work. Based on all this I suspect this will be one of the best games I will ever play in my life.
This will be the greatest thing that's happened in the history of history
I can't stress enough how much I HATE the crappy cartoon skin that every single mmorpg gets thrown on, working on all computers does not mean sucking on all computers! give it a grungy feel skyrim touched at make it an original art style and I swear you'll have my money.
on another note the quests in the elder scrolls franchise have always rocked! I never get bored and they're always fresh and exciting. this game NEEDS to have this and i don't believe it will succeed if it doesn't.
Finally keep the combat like it's always been in the scrolls NO TIMED ATTACK BUTTON *** keep it real time and interactive.
this game needs to feel like the elder scrolls but from this screenshot all i can see is FAILURE
This looks so effing epic!! I want it! hopefully the subscription is reasonable
Well, after READING the articles they have put out, I can say without a doubt, that this is beyond infuriating, it is INSULTING to me as a fan of the Elder Scrolls. They are removing everything that makes the series what it is, and are turning it into a generic MMO! DO IT RIGHT OR DON’T DO IT! (Turn based combat, class restriction, 2nd era)
Too soon.
