Sam Fisher Doesn't Mess Around In New Splinter Cell: Blacklist Trailer

The newest Splinter Cell: Blacklist trailer shows Sam Fisher doing what he does best: ridding the world of bad guys.

Dubbed the Inauguration trailer, the new video starts with a montage of presidents being sworn into office before we get to the good stuff. After pledging to stop not just one but all of the Blacklist attacks being carried out on the U.S., Fisher engages in all sorts of rappelling, neck snapping, and explosion dodging. I'm still not sure what the footage of our former presidents has to do with anything, but it looks like Blacklist ups the series' action to new heights.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist will release on August 20 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. To see Fisher's sneakier side, check out this developer diary.

  • I like Sam's new look, but dang that guy can't catch a break. He's been fighting for his life for years now, give the guy a vacation. Splinter Cell goes Hawaiian, now there's a game.
  • Have had this game preordered for a few months now. The more I see the more I like.

  • I loved Conviction, and I have a feeling this will be even better.
  • I don't want to see any trailers for this game, still pissed I gotta wait until (it's) new August release date!!

  • No Ironside, NO SAM!
  • Looks awesome. Can't wait. Bummed that its pushed back to August but the Spring is already jam packed with games

  • Dang Jeena!...
  • STOP ALL THE ATTACKS

Memes aside, cool trailer: nice balance of stealth and action.

  • finally some sneaking around and flash banging people. last game was all action movie and not enough ninja sneaking the way my splinter cell games should be.
  • I miss Ironside. Nevertheless, the game looks fantastic.
  • I can't play a game that just plays itself. The tagging and execute function ruined this game for me b/c all you have to do is sneak up on one person and then just tag the rest and Sam does the rest... automatically. How is that fun?
  • I know it's shallow but I prefer the old voice actor for Sam. Despite what purists say I do like where the series is headed but I also wish some mechanics like hiding bodies would come back into play.
  • Looking real good.  I haven't played a Splinter Cell game in forever, but I'm thinking I might get this when it comes out this summer.  Also, does Sam ever age?  I swear, he looked older in the first game than in the titles that have come out since, lol.

  • Give Sam Fisher a hidden blade as a pre-order bonus.

  • This game looks very interesting

  • Looking very good, I will get it but I gotta say, Metal Gear is still the king baby. Can't wait to have Metal Gear Solid Ground Zero.

  • Cool trailer, possibly good game, but no Michael Ironside; its still a bitter pill to swallow frankly as his grisly voice is so ummistakable and so closely linked with Sam Fisher in my mind, still I'll give this a chance.
  • Finally it's back on ps3
  • Haha, looks terrible.
