Let's Play The Quiet Game In The Latest Splinter Cell Developer Diary

The latest developer diary for the upcoming Splinter Cell: Blacklist teaches us how to be quiet.

The video features animation director Kristjan Zadziuk as he shows off some of the ways Sam Fisher can take out enemies and quickly hide their bodies. And ways he can just take them out without worrying about sound or bodies when necessary.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist is set for release next year.

  • Sam looks great in this video... I game on PS3 so it will be good to get back into another Splinter Cell game. I think the animations could use a bit more weight/impact though. If you want to knock someone out, you have to drop them on their head harder than that. Maybe they could just add some more neck movement to simulate the impact.

This is alpha footage, so they'll probably polish it up a bit more by release. Looks really good though, so I hope this was console footage.
  • This game keeps looking and sounding better as details unfold.
  • I loved Conviction, this looks to be even better.
  • It looks fun. Just not like Splinter Cell.
  • It is great that they removed the black and white effects from the previous game,SC Conviction had gorgeous graphics that were wasted by the overuse of it.

  • This looks like it's shaping up to be more in tune with the original 3 games but with the innovations of Conviction layered on top, definitely looked like another action oriented game at first but this is really helping sell me on it.
  • Looking Nice!

  • Oh they are bringing back stealth? Might be worth checking out then!

  • A stealth game with actual stealth gameplay? Preposterous!
  • This game looks nothing short of stunning.

  • Definitely happy to see more shadows and darkness than what they've showed in the past. I always liked trying to go through entire levels without killing anyone, or even touching them if I could avoid it.

Glad to see they meant it when they said they were definitely keeping what made fans out of Splinter Cell in the first place.

  • Looks like they're taking it to the next level with this entry. The graphics are amazing and they seem to be going all MGS on us with decent stealth. Can't wait to see how you can go in guns-a-blazing.

  • Already addressed my main issues with Conviction. Awesome.

  • The game looks fun, but it'll never be the same without Ironside as the voice of Fisher.
  • That last move was pretty crazy :P
  • oh nice! looking forward to this!

  • I'm glad this is coming to PS3.
