New Enemies And New Moves Shown In First Trailer

Sonic has had a rocky past with some less-than-awesome titles making appearances in the last few years. Could the newly announced Sonic Lost World turn the franchise around? Take a look at the new gameplay revealed in this trailer and judge for yourself.

Sega announced that Sonic Lost World will be coming to Nintendo Wii U and 3DS later this year along with a trailer and screenshots, available below.

Sonic is pitted against six new villains recruited by the nefarious Dr. Eggman. However, the plot thickens when The Deadly Six revolt against Eggman, forcing him and Sonic into an unlikely partnership to stop them. The Color Powers from Sonic Colors make a return, along with new parkour abilities like wall-running. Both the 3DS and Wii U versions feature competitive multiplayer, though details haven't been revealed yet. Wii U owners can use the Gamepad's touchscreen and tilt functions to use Sonic's Color Powers. 3DS players can look forward to 3D visuals and exclusive stages for the handheld.

Are you considering giving Sonic Lost World a try? Or are you burned out on the franchise? Chime in and tell us why or why not in the comments.

  • Jaleel White better not be voicing Sonic
  • Wow, Sega took the Sonic X-treme idea and f**ken ran with it. Good for you Sega! Good for you! Who ever greenlighted this project should get a raise.

Might need to get me one of those fancy Wii U with it picture box gamepad now.

  • I doesnt look bad might half to wait to see me to get me sold

  • Burned out on the franchise? that's a little unfair to ask.

  • Nope...

  • so sonic copies mario again, this time he steals from mario galaxy style platforms, nice
  • I guess I will buy it because I played many of the games hope it is better than the past games though.

  • A couple of things... First off, the recent Sonic games have all been good. Sonic 4, Sonic Colors, and Sonic Generations, are all good Sonic games. Of course everyone hates them because it's not Genesis Sonic. Which is stupid, especially after getting passed all that nonsense like Black Knight and Sonic the Hedgehog (2006). Second, why does everyone have to compare games that aren't that much alike? Oh, the screen rotated a bit, clearly this is Sonic Galaxy. We're not in space, we're not rotating around planets, the gameplay is very Sonic, and not Mario. This game looks good, and from everything that's been out recently, I expect it to be just as good as it looks now.
  • This is looking very good. Sure it'll get hate for being a "Nintendo game" but anyone that isn't a fanboy should see potential in it.

  • I honestly think this was a very smart business move for Mr. Sonic. Nintendo has a stellar reputation for keeping classic icon characters alive. I think this might be the game Sonic fans have been waiting for, for a very long time.

  • Looks fairly promising. I honestly think Sega is back on track with making good Sonic games.

  • I'll take eight.

    Okay two.

This looks so promising that I need it in my bloodstream.

  • Reminds me of the Super Mario Galaxys with Sonic. I will definitely get a WiiU for this game.

  • I'll wait until it's out and check the verdict before I look into picking up a copy.

And yeah, the level design totally makes me think of Super Mario Galaxy.

  • Generations and Colors were actually great games. I have very high hopes for this game. The Wii U is going to blow minds at E3. I still feel advantageous owning a Wii U. Go buy one, they're great!!!

  • looks like fun

  • The trailer was pretty good. I'm still disappointed it's not coming for PS3. Also, did you really have to use that stupid "Dubstep WUB WUB" crap again SEGA?!?! I mean, it worked with All-Stars Racing Transformed, but as for this? Nuh-Uh. I want to hear some more "Rock'n Roll" music that's kick@$$. Like this one: Along with this: And this track: This is coming from someone who loved MGR's kick@$$ tunes. I swear, Sega should let Platinum Games make this (Multi-platform of course).
  • *Insert copy/pasted comment on how Sonic stole from Mario minus execution here*

  • Kinda reminds me of Mario Galaxy, which is a very good thing.

  • I will wait and see the review but call me interested if I had a Wii U.
